Piastramarina Quarry
The charm of an underground quarry from where precious marbles are extracted
Continuing along the via di quarry, not far from the Cava Padulello, there is the underground quarry Piatamarina, set between Monte Tambura and Monte Cavallo, at 1415 meters high. In the past worked in the open air, today inside the mountain from where an exclusive and unique marble is extracted for its beauty: the Bianco P, intended for the construction of design buildings of international importance. On the right side of the quarry you can see the famous lizza Magnani, once a quarry road used to transport the blocks just extracted from the mountain downstream, today a destination for hikers to reach the top of the Tambura.
